ResNet & eduroam
eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam provides wireless coverage through the campus including UCSB Residence Halls and Dinning Commons. For more information visit www.eduroam.org or contact ResNet support. To login in use your UCSB NetID <Your_UCSBnetID>@ucsb.edu and password.
Important Note About Password Problems: If you have forgotten or need to setup your USCB NetID or password, use please use Identity Manager.
ResNet & UCSB Wireless Web
If your device does not support network logins into eduroam ResNet provides a UCSB Wireless Web network for convenient WiFi access on Internet enabled devices that do not support username (UCSBnetID) and password logins. Examples of these types of devices are (Amazon echo, wireless speakers, game consoles, Smart TVs etc.) To activate your wireless devices which then can be used on the UCSB Wireless Web network. Please have your NetID and password ready then login and visit the Device Registration page in order to perform a one time setup by registering the MAC address of each of your wireless devices, choosing the UCSB_WIRELESS_DEVICE_ROLE drop down selection during device registration.

ResNet & Wired Access
The ResNet eduroam and UCSB Wireless Web network is ubiquitous throughout UCSB Residence Halls and Dinning Commons. You will be able to access ResNet Wireless from your Room, any of the nearby study lounges and throughout the common areas of the Residence Buildings. While we strive to provide as wide of a WiFi coverage area as possible, please be aware that WiFi, like all radio-based technologies, is susceptible to interference and possible blackouts. If for any reason you require an uninterrupted link to the Internet we recommend you use your in-room ethernet jack. If your in-room ethernet jack is not currently activated please contact ResNet support in order to activate an in-room ethernet jack.
Wired Activation Requirement
Please have your UCSB NetID and password ready then logon and visit the Device Registration page in order to perform a one time setup by registering the MAC address of each of your wired devices, choosing the UCSB_WIRED_DEVICE_ROLE drop down selection during device registration.
